We had a fantastic surf/skate lesson with Bec! She was patient, kind, and quick to assess our skill level, tailoring the lesson to suit our needs perfectly. Her encouraging feedback was spot-on, and we learned so much in just one session. Bec’s cheerful attitude made the experience not only productive but really enjoyable. We left feeling more confident and excited to keep improving— highly recommend!

I was part of a small group booked for a Longboard Skate lesson with Longboard Horizons.
Being 50-something I was pretty terrified, but Bec had all of us feeling super confident in no time.
I gained enough confidence to pick up some speed, and zoom around the court.
I loved the lesson so much, I went back for a second lesson the next day.
By the end of it I was able to weave between the cones, and I was more confident with my turns (and stopping).
I’ve now purchased a longboard, and love running beside it, jumping on, and weaving between gumnuts on the ground.
I can’t wait to do another lesson to learn more!

Your coach
Bec is passionate about introducing people to surfing and skating. She has surfed the Margaret River coastline for 25 plus years and has extensive experience working as a Surfing Australia Surf Instructor. Bec is also a qualified lifesaver and Skate Australia Development Coach.

Longboard Skate + Introduction to Longboard Dancing
Longboard Skate – pure fun, pure flow – build balance,
coordination, board feel and confidence.
Longboard Dancing – an introduction to longboard dancing – here you can develop all the basics, including pushing, getting on and off safely, developing timing, balance and dance skills all while on the longboards.
Private Individual Lesson – 1 hour – $80
Private lesson x 2 people – 1 hour – $60 p/p
Private group lesson x 3 people – 1 hour $50p/p
Private group lesson x 4 people – 1hour – $45 p/p

Surf lesson / skate lesson combined package - Margaret River
Experience the beautiful Margaret River coastline with a learn to surf, learn to skate package
Feel first hand the exhilaration of surfing in a package that includes both learning to surf and learning to skate with one experienced personal coach to help guide you in the water and while on wheels.
The skate lesson helps you activate the balance muscles and body awareness required to improve your surf skills.
The longboard skate component perfectly compliments and develops the balance and body awareness skills needed for surfing and helps build your enjoyment when learning to surf.
This surf and skate experience will run over two consecutive mornings.
This includes a one hour skate lesson and a two hour surfing lesson.
All equipment is provided or you can use your own if you have it.
Skate lesson options include:
Surf skate training (entry level) – Skatepark (beginner level) – Longboard skateboard
Your surfing lesson will be run with Bec through Margaret River Surf School.
We will head to the most suitable local location for our surf lesson and have a full two hour lesson which will include around 1.5 hours in the water after some beach based learning. Wetsuits and boards supplied or you can bring your own.

Surf Skate Lessons - SmoothStar skate lessons
Surf skate –Feel the closest thing to surfing on land, where you can really get to feel out your turns.
Surf skating, also known as surf skateboarding or surfing inspired skateboarding, is a style of skateboarding that draws from the movements and feeling of surfing.
Surf skates have a specially designed truck that allows for more fluid movement and surf style board riding.
Make the most of what surf skating can do for your surfing development.
All skate equipment and protective equipment is supplied or you can bring your own
1 hour long sessions

- Longboard Skate Lessons – Margaret River – indoor venue (6:30am – 3pm)
- Margaret River Skatepark Lessons (not available in Winter)
- Saturday and Sunday lessons in Margaret River are available on request
- Busselton (min 4 participants per booking & bookings are essential) Monday to Friday
- Please note: There is an additional call out fee charge for lessons that run outside of Margaret River
